The Bathroom Company, specialists in the supply and installation of high-quality bathrooms & kitchens, has taken the top spot, and dominated the Top 5, in the latest Virtual Worlds Regional Designer of the Year.
The competition is run annually by Virtual Worlds, an interactive 4D software which has revolutionised the Kitchen, Bedroom & Bathroom industries. It enables bathroom and kitchen designers to design in a 3D environment, complete with manufacturer endorsed products, in order to present their designs to customers in stunning interactive virtual reality at the push of a button.
The Bathroom Company, which is headquartered in Perth, saw 4 of its team place in the Top 5 with Mark Battrick, who works out of The Bathroom Company’s Edinburgh store, taking the overall top spot for the region in first place. Chloe Roxburgh and Richard Fraser, who are both based out of The Bathroom Company’s Perth showroom, placed 2nd and 3rd respectively. The final spot in the region’s Top 5 went to Gareth Gilchrist, who also works in the Edinburgh store with Mark.
The competition saw the four designers submit a concept for a bathroom measuring a standard 3m x 2m. The top prize garnered the winner, Mark Battrick, a cool £500. The runner up, Chloe Roxburgh, received a bottle of champagne. Mark’s winning design featured a bathroom built into a natural cliff side with ocean views, an infinity bath and a functional champagne bar. Chloe’s circular shaped bathroom included a marble plunge bath and a glass ceiling dome to create a sense of space and light.
Commenting on his win, Mark said:
“I genuinely can’t believe it, I’m really chuffed! The idea came around during lockdown when I think we were all trying to reinvent our own indoor spaces. I found myself dreaming of ocean views and the luxuries of travel. I’m delighted to have finished in 1st place, and that three of my colleagues have also finished in the Top 5.”
