The Bathroom Company staff raise £450 for type 1 diabetes charity, JDRF

Our team was delighted to hand over a cheque for £450 to the type 1 diabetes charity, JDRF.

Building upon our previous charitable work, The Bathroom Company was delighted to hand over a cheque for £450 to the type 1 diabetes charity, JDRF. This is a charitable cause that we care strongly about. The donation will help fund research to cure, treat, and prevent type 1 diabetes.

Our award-winning showroom at The Bathroom Company was the venue for the cheque presentation. Claire Douglas, JDRF Regional Fundraiser (Scotland) was delighted to accept the generous donation from our Director, Fiona Lowry.

JDRF provides information for children, adults, and parents living with the condition, at all stages from diagnosis and beyond. Giving a voice to people with type 1 diabetes and campaigning for increased focus on, and funding for, research to find the cure. Internationally, JDRF is the world’s leading charitable funder of type 1 diabetes research.

Our Managing Director Lawrence Haddow was delighted to be supporting JDRF:

“JDRF is a charity really close to my heart and I am so pleased that we are able to make this donation. We are well aware of how important the work of JDRF is and indeed the progress that they are making in their research. I understand that in the last five years there has been more progress towards finding a cure, than in the previous fifty years.”

The money raised by The Bathroom Company will help to support the many exciting research projects that JDRF is currently funding. These include, ‘smart’ insulin, artificial pancreas and an encapsulation programme.
