Bathroom And En-suite Renovation Brief

Our client was planning a bathroom and en-suite renovation for their home in Edinburgh. For the main bathroom, they wanted a modern shower-over-bath design that feels spacious, along with ample storage to keep the space well organised. They preferred a calming, inviting colour scheme to unify the overall design, creating a serene, cohesive environment.

For the master ensuite, the client wanted a large and comfortable walk-in shower. They were keen to incorporate traditionally styled furniture to achieve a touch of classic look, while ensuring the space felt open and uncluttered. Ample storage was an important requirement, as they wanted their ensuite organised and functional. They wanted a large, mirrored cabinet and a double vanity to ensure the space functions comfortably for two people.

Survey

During the survey, our team carried out detailed measurements and carefully assessed the practicality of the proposed design, taking into account the existing layout, services, and structural considerations. We carefully reviewed the scope of work and identified all technical requirements to deliver the design efficiently and to a high standard.

Through a relaxed, informal conversation, we gathered insights into the client’s colour preferences, interests, and intended use of the space, which helped us create a truly personalised design. Our client was happy with our approach to reimagine both the ensuite and main bathroom, allowing us to create more spacious, functional layouts that seamlessly incorporated all the elements outlined in their design brief.

En-suite 3D Design

The vanity area is positioned in the centre of the space, serving as the focal object upon entering the master ensuite. The vanity includes a large mirror cabinet and a dual basin for two people to use simultaneously. The shower is positioned at the left end of the space, creating a large, open, and comfortable shower.

The WC is positioned beside the vanity at the right end of the ensuite, attached to a bulkhead that provides additional storage while concealing design elements. This layout creates a generous central area, enhancing the sense of space and making movement within the ensuite more comfortable and convenient. We fully tiled the shower area and tiled the remaining walls to dado height, finishing the rest with paint to create a distinctive and elegant look.

Bathroom 3D Design

Our design team reimagined the entire bathroom, creating a more open, functional layout that thoughtfully incorporates every element of the design brief. We positioned the shower area on the right to accommodate a large shower-over-bath, and dedicated the left side to the vanity and WC, complemented by additional storage furniture. This thoughtful layout frees up the central area, creating an open bathroom that enhances ease of movement, everyday functionality, and an overall sense of spaciousness.

Natural light from the window brightens the space, enhancing its welcoming atmosphere and helping control humidity. We used our CAD system to design the ensuite, generating a precise 3D visualisation of the space. This allowed our client to virtually walk through their ensuite before installation, helping them make decisions with confidence.
