Kitchen Remodel In Pitlochry

Showroom Visit

While planning their kitchen remodel in Pitlochry, our client visited our showroom to gather ideas and inspiration. After receiving a warm welcome late on a Saturday evening while passing on their way home, they shared that they immediately felt they had found the right team to bring their vision to life. They were impressed by our premium products and by the knowledge of our skilled design team, who explained how our in-house team manages every stage of the project to ensure a smooth, stress-free renovation from initial design through to completion.

Design Brief

They sought to create a traditional-style kitchen with a calm, neutral colour scheme that would feel both elegant and timeless. The clients required generous storage to keep the kitchen organised, along with a dedicated dining area for entertaining family and guests. Our client also wanted a separate hob area to support cooking during busy festive periods. They preferred shaker-style cabinetry and tiled flooring to create a cohesive look that would complement the overall design.

We installed white base and wall units in our recently completed kitchen remodel in Pitlochry.

Kitchen survey

We visited our client’s home to carry out a detailed survey. This allowed us to gain a clear understanding of their vision while carefully assessing the layout and practical considerations of the space. It was necessary to reimagine their kitchen with an open layout that reflects all the details aligned with their brief, and our client was happy for us to do so. During a relaxed conversation, we talked through how they currently use the room and the number of guests they typically entertain.

We also discussed their specific requirements for additional cooking facilities separate from the AGA, a dedicated drinks area, and their preferred colours and finishes. Every requirement was carefully considered to ensure seamless incorporation into the overall kitchen remodel in Pitlochry.

Kitchen Design

In our design, the dining area was positioned at one end of the kitchen to maximise natural light and take full advantage of the window view. We incorporated bench seating alongside additional chairs to comfortably host up to 11 family members or guests. Adjacent to the dining area, we added built-in cabinetry with an integrated drinks cabinet, creating a practical and stylish refreshment area.

The sink was positioned along one side of the kitchen within a generous run of worktop, providing plenty of space for food preparation and everyday tasks. Wall-mounted cabinets were introduced to keep frequently used items within easy reach, while the base units offer practical storage for essentials. The original classic cast-iron range cooker was reintegrated into the design, combining distinctive style with practical functionality.

Our design layout was personalised to our client’s vision, with every element from their brief carefully incorporated into the 3D design. Using our CAD system, we presented the kitchen in 3D virtual reality, allowing the client to virtually walk through the space and preview the layout, products, and colour scheme before installation. Our client requested a few minor adjustments, which we implemented, and they then approved the installation for their kitchen remodel in Pitlochry.

Our Kitchen Remodel Approach And Product Selection

We selected Hacker Systemat cabinetry for its exceptional durability and distinctive design, combining functionality with style. To complete the kitchen sink area, we fitted a Franke stainless steel sink into the sink base, paired with a Quooker tap renowned for its instant boiling water. We selected Dekton by Consentino for all our countertops for its durability and distinctive finish. A bespoke floating shelf was installed above the AGA, sized to suit the space and provide useful additional storage. The cabinetry is finished with matte nickel pull knobs, chosen to complement the overall colour scheme and create a clean, refined look. The floor throughout is laid with Original Style Porcelain Arcadian Field tiles, selected for their classic appearance, durability and easy maintenance.

Kitchen Remodel In Pitlochry – Preparation Process

The front door was identified as the main access point for the project. Protective dust sheets and carpet film were laid from the entrance through to the work area to protect the home and reduce disruption. An eight-yard skip was placed in the driveway for the safe removal of waste. Before work began, the water supply to the room was isolated, and all existing appliances, cabinets and wall tiles were carefully removed to prepare the space for installation.

Kitchen Installation – plumbing work

All hot, cold and waste pipework was modified to suit the new kitchen layout, ensuring everything aligned correctly with the design. The sink and all specified appliances were installed and fully connected for safe and reliable use. A Quooker tap was fitted and commissioned to provide instant boiling water. The radiator was repositioned, with the pipework adjusted to maintain efficient heating performance.

Kitchen fitting – Joinery work

After removing the existing kitchen, plasterboard was installed on the walls and ceilings where needed. Lath and plaster areas affected during tile removal were carefully repaired to restore a smooth surface. Timber framing was fitted above the wall units to create a neat, flush finish with the ceiling, and additional supports were added to securely fix cupboards, radiators, and accessories. The new kitchen units were then installed according to the approved design, complete with plinths, fillers, and end panels, resulting in a clean, fully finished kitchen.

Solid worktops were templated, supplied, and installed, and a shaker-style panel with a floating shelf was constructed above the AGA to house the extraction unit. In the dining area, the window cill was lowered to seat height, and an MDF tongue-and-groove seating and table arrangement was created, with the existing window seat finished to match. Storage was incorporated into the seating with piano-hinged lids and multiple compartments.

Kitchen installation – Electrical works

Pendant and LED lighting were installed throughout, including an adjustable pendant above the dining area, downlights, and under unit lighting. Dimmers and switches were fitted, and all appliances, including the fan, cooker, and TV, were wired and connected. Low level sockets were upgraded with brushed stainless steel faceplates, and additional power points and a new grid switch were installed according to the electrical plan.

Kitchen Installation – Tiling

Tiles were meticulously prepared and installed on the worktop splashback following the specified design. Each tile was carefully positioned to ensure uniformity and durability. The team fully grouted, sealed, and polished all tile work, creating a clean, long-lasting finish that delivers both functionality and a visually cohesive surface for the kitchen workspace.

Client Testimonial

Our experience with the Bathroom Company was positive from the very first contact. The receptionist, late on a Saturday afternoon, welcomed us into the showroom, and Chloe was helpful and knowledgeable about bathroom and kitchen options. Fiona then visited the rooms we were considering and came back with some great ideas. She went through everything with us, down to every fine detail, and was very knowledgeable about what was doable and what wasn’t, and why. She and Chloe helped us through the many stages of decision-making and were always very patient.

Once we agreed to go ahead with the design, the installation team arrived and were all friendly, helpful, and professional. The project manager sent a text every morning to say who would be coming, what time, and what they would be doing that day, and he was always available to us. All issues were quickly sorted out, and we were kept informed at every stage. Nothing was too much trouble, and we would highly recommend this Company.
