Bathroom Survey

We conducted a detailed bathroom survey in our client’s Edinburgh home to fully understand their vision and style. We measured the space and explored various luxury bathroom installation designs. Through informal conversations, we gained valuable insights into their preferences, colour choices, and essential design elements.

Bathroom Design

Our design team reimagined the bathroom layout, blending contemporary design with functional installation. We transformed the area beside the entrance into a large walk-in shower, creating a comfortable and spacious experience. We positioned the bath and WC along the room’s front wall to achieve a well-balanced layout.

This design maximises the central space, creating a bright and open atmosphere with plentiful activity space. We integrated a double vanity unit as the room’s focal point, offering storage while enhancing functionality while maintaining a luxurious modern appeal.

Preparation for the Edinburgh Bathroom Installation

As part of this bespoke bathroom renovation in Edinburgh, we ensured smooth and essential preparatory steps. Protective dust sheets and carpet covers were laid from the entrance to prevent damage to the property from dust. A skip with batons was placed securely on the driveway for debris disposal. The water supplies were isolated, and the sanitary ware, tiles, and woodwork were carefully removed.

Our Bespoke Bathroom Installation Approach

We installed a built-in Quantum Integra bath from Carron Bathrooms with a grab handle, which was chosen for its sleek style, durability and safety. We incorporated a recessed kicker detail with backlighting around the bath to enhance the serene ambience. Above the bath, we designed a recessed shelf to provide convenient storage for toiletries.

The shower area features a 1500 x 900mm rectangular shower tray, paired with a Crosswater clear 6 sliding door. A dual shower set with a fixed head, riser, and kit from Crosswater completed the shower system. Chrome-finished brassware and fixtures were chosen to ensure a cohesive and consistent colour scheme.

We selected the Dansani Luna 2-drawer unit for the vanity, paired with the porcelain white Menuet double washbasin. Above the vanity, the Luna Level mirror cabinet offers an intelligent lighting system with a dusk-to-dawn controller, convenient shelving, and an electrical socket for grooming appliances. This blend of style and practicality was exactly what our client envisioned for their Edinburgh bathroom renovation.

Installation Process

Our expert bathroom fitters carried out plumbing and joinery work to ensure a detailed luxury bathroom installation. First, we modified the hot and cold drainage systems to fit the new sanitary ware, ensuring seamless fixture installations. Additionally, the joinery work involved reinforcing the floors after pipe removals, constructing a custom WC and bath bulkhead and building the shower area to accommodate a 1500mm tray. To complete the process, we re-plastered the affected walls, framed the bath area for precise tile installation, and added feature lighting to enhance the ambience.

We carried out the tiling and electrical work to the highest standards. Our team carefully arranged the tiles to allow for centred grout lines where possible, installing them up to the dado level, with full-height tiling in the walk-in shower area. We prepared the floor with Wedi insulation before tiling, and thoroughly waterproofed the shower area to ensure long-term durability. After installing the tiles, we professionally grouted and polished them. To enhance comfort, we also added underfloor heating.

To provide a luxury bathroom experience, we installed six chrome-plated LED downlights, a bath LED light, and under-unit LED floor lighting. Additional recessed LED lights were fitted, and a dimmer switch was added for adjustable brightness. We installed two Icon extractor fans to ensure proper ventilation and maintain a fresh atmosphere.

Our in-house project manager supervised and tested all installations to ensure premium quality and functionality. This bathroom installation in Edinburgh successfully combined style, practicality, and comfort, delivering an exceptional result tailored to our client’s needs.
